There wasn’t a single doll that set off my want switch. I am sooo happy that I don’t have to spend any money LOL. I hope everybody gets all the dolls they tried to get
I have to admit, I am kind of worried about the quality of this year’s dolls. Little things like the poor sewing of the pleats shown on the Out Sass doll, Tullabelle’s Trend Spotted skirt looking like very thin acetate (parachute type material) usually reserved for Barbie’s lowest level playline dolls, the ill fitting *everything* in Quality Woman’s suits, Holland’s and Dayle’s “neckless wonder” ill fitting coats, and of course Take My Picture’s very cheap looking Barbie type dress.
The proof will be in the pudding when the dolls are released – but so many little things on the model dolls aren’t quite translating well in the preview images? It’s as if the materials ended up wrong for small scale usage and so sewing and construction missed the mark on several dolls. The Funny Face line especially, which really needed to be tailored well in order to evoke the silhouettes (tightly fitted lower waisted Dovima or loose A-Line Quality Woman grey suit).
I only wanted the DG Guys, and some of the girls’ outfits… I’m right there with you on Dayle’s boots LOL but I’ll try to get them later. I got the guys, and now I’ll save money for the next event…
I did not care about Funny Face- not super into retro fashions, but I love them. What won me over was the use of different face sculpts. Had it been all vero like the preview pic, I would have not even looked twice. Had it Been Poppy- probably not unless it was Poppy as each character- I don’t need another Sabrina/Audrey looking Poppy. But using the other molds won me over. I got more of the DG’s but the Funny Face took most off my money- just because they were all giftsets and more expensive!!!
Voted!
Dear Tulabelle,
Shut up and take my money!!

I admit to being a bit underwhelmed.

I am not into Jem, but was tempted by Kimber.
