I just had to freak out and fangirl here a moment. Y’all know I’m a HUGE fan of The Walking Dead and look forward to the panel & booth at ComicCon. Well, this year they’ve gone craaaaazy! They setup a whole escape course at Petco Park which is right next to ComicCon this year. You can pay to go through the course, pay to become made up and work as a walker or just pay to be a spectator. My hubby woke me up early this morning freaking out about it. So we got a email late Sunday night that SDCC would be doing some more resales of badges from the fiasco that happened the first time. This time they were limiting it to people who were unable to purchase Saturday badges last time (that was me!) to kind of give them a chance because of the problems with a link the first time. I was up and ready on the computer with my link setup in a tab and ready to be refreshed! The clock struck 8:00am and I hit that sucker. Spinning wheel, why do you torture me so? So this morning ComicCon tickets went on sale. Should I even go on about the fiasco that ensued at 8am PST? Well, this year was different because you had to register for a member ID prior to Feb 28th to even buy any tickets. Check – did that! Then we got a private email yesterday with the link to purchase tickets today at 8am. Check – got that! So I’m online clicking the link just prior to 8am and boom! 8am hits and my browser thingie is circling and circling and nothing is coming up. Then I get the 404 error! Crap! It’s been a crazy week… Trying to recover (that means lots of sleep) from ComicCon, helping a friend move (the pitfalls of having a truck amongst your friends), and then yesterday I made a trip up to Anaheim with my doll club friends to UFDC. UFDC is the United Federation of Doll Clubs. They hold a yearly convention with tons of workshops and then 1 day during the event the salesroom is open to the public. Mostly antique & french dolls, antique 1/12 miniature dolls, Ginny, Tiny Kitty, etc. Fun to see, but the only modern dolls I saw were Tonner & Gene. So first I wanted to share pics of the Carol Ferris Barbie. I ordered some for a few friends, so I used theirs in the photoshoot. Next up is the 2 versions of the tote bag that came with Ghoulia. I feel like a (somewhat) new person today, well at least not like a zombie anymore. Slept 10 straight hours, but I know I’ll be napping for a few more later today. I wanted to address the many questions that people have been asking me. Sorry I couldn’t answer people’s emails and comments directly, but I got quite a few of them, LOL, and the smartphone’s die out quickly. I actually was in the “red” by 1pm everyday and either had to find a place to charge, which was hard when you need to be in panels, or I just replaced it with the 2nd battery I carried around with me. Ah, the bittersweet ending to the convention. You’re tired and are glad it’s ending but then again you’re not. So today was the day to sleep in a little more since I wasn’t trying to get there early for anything. I actually slept until 7am and then my brother picked me up to spend Sunday with me. Let me take a moment here to offer another tip for those planning to attend next year. Spend different days there with different friends. Looking back at Thursday & Friday, I had a great time, mostly spending time in TV show panels with my doll club friends.
